When entering the room, take a few minutes to get a feel for the ambiance before jumping in. If you do not like the room, simply go somewhere else.


Use proper username and avatars that you will use in the cbox. Multiple username and smiley overuse are not allowed inside. Avoid obscene nicknames and photos.


Use caps only for emphasis. Avoid using tags. Constant usage of these can be annoying.


Do not advertise other website/s inside the room. If you want to advertise a particular site, better contact the site administrators and ask them for link exchange.


Users in chat may insult or verbally abuse you. In fact, there are many instances where a user joins chat rooms just to annoy others. While your instinct may be to fireback, try to restrain yourself from doing so.


Respect everyone you see inside the cbox including administrators, moderators and chatters. If someone is disrespectful, just ignore them istead of arguing. Avoid using languages and attitudes which may be offensive to others.


Respect and welcome all newcomers to the chat. Address the person by his/her nickname. Remember, you were once a “newbie”.


Most importantly, enjoy your time in the chat rooms and never take things too seriously. Chat etiquette is something we all should use.
